Record Increase in Revenue Receipts

  • Mines & Minerals Department, was assigned a non-tax revenue receipt target of Rs.15 billion for the financial year 2023-24, against which the department has been able to achieve Rs.16.82 billion* i.e. Rs. 1.82 billions over and above the assigned target.
  • This feat has been achieved despite the overall slowdown in economy, less   consumption of mineral based construction materials and other numerous impediments created by unscrupulous elements. 
  • The revenue target for M&M Punjab in next FY 2024-25 is Rs 40 Billion.
  • Under the directions of CM, linked Royalty on Limestone and Argillaceous Clay for Cement with the ex-factory sale price of cement and increase in excise duty for miners’ welfare after 45 years.  
  • In contrast, all other provinces, including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, collect Rs 17 Billion despite having rich deposits of Gold, copper, precious stones.

*Revenue Collected in FY 2022-23 includes bank guarantees of Rs.1.43 billions furnished by the Cement Factories in light of order of Honorable Lahore High Court Lahore
