Mines & Minerals Department to facilitate investors in mining. All information on mining leases will now be available online. Applications for new leases will also be submitted online under the application management system soon. Amir Ejaz ordered the completion of GIS-based online database as soon as possible. The decisions ware taken at a meeting chaired by Provincial Secretary MMD Amir Ejaz Akbar.
The meeting was held at the office of the Director General of Mines and Minerals, on Thursday, under the chairmanship of the Provincial Secretary of Mines and Minerals. The meeting was attended by the Director General Mines and Minerals, the Deputy Secretary Technical, and the senior officials of the department. The issue of bringing a systematic policy to promote investment in the Salt sector was under consideration. DG Mines and Manager GIS also briefed Secretary Mines about the re-project regarding mining cadastre. The briefing described the creation of a Web-GIS-based online database through which all kinds of information about mining leases would be available to investors as well as an online application management system will be developed through which new lease applications can be applied for online. Finally, Secretary Mines was briefed about the work done so far.
