Samia Saleem, Additional Secretary Mines & Minerals Department chaired a meeting in her office regarding conservation of energy and reduction of electricity bills through solarization and replacement of inefficient electric appliances in buildings under Mines & Minerals Department. Deputy Secretary Administration, Project Manager Punjab Energy Efficiency & Conservation Agency, and representatives of attached directorates participated in the meeting. The option of financing solarization on Energy Service Company model was considered, however after due deliberation it was decided to finance this project through ADP. The chair directed that estimates for a consolidated ADP scheme for all attached directorates may be included in ADP 2021-22. The chair further directed MLWO to write to Energy Department and P&D Department to work out the possibility of inclusion of Mines Labour Welfare hospitals in World Bank funded project for energy efficiency.
